CELTA: Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages

CELTA is the most widely recognized English teaching qualification in the world and the most requested by employers. It is an introductory teaching course awarded by Cambridge English language assessment. It focuses on developing practical techniques, and includes face-to-face or online teaching practice with groups of learners, which will give you the confidence you need to begin teaching after finishing the course.

What is in the CELTA course?

The CELTA course covers the principles of effective teaching, and gives you a range of teaching techniques and practical experience. You get hands-on teaching practice and observation of experienced teachers, and you’ll apply your learning by delivering communicative language teaching.

Tutorial support and consultation

Supervised lesson planning

6 hours assessed teaching practice

Feedback on teaching practice

Peer observation of teaching practice

6 hours directed observation of lessons taught by experienced ELT professionals

How to apply!

Payment Details

In order to apply for the CELTA course, you will need to answer a Pre-Selection Task. Make sure to send your application form and the task to celta.pharos@pua.edu.eg Once your file is complete, you will be asked to deposit a non-refundable amount of (2000 LE) in:

For international transfer: This amount (2000 LE) is due before scheduling your zoom . Once payment is confirmed, you will be informed of the date of the zoom .

Once accepted, a non-refundable deposit of (13000 LE) needs to be paid to secure your place. Then the remaining non-refundable balance (30,000 LE) can be deposited in full or in two installments in the same bank account mentioned above. Total price is 45,000 LE.

For international transfer: Note that payment taking place from outside Egypt usually takes a longer time to be processed.
